On this day in 1924, the great Armenian writer, genius poet Paruyr Sevak was born in Zangakatun community of Ararat region. He would have turned 97 today.
According to the established tradition, the poet's birthday was celebrated in the birthplace. A small memorial service was organized, which was attended by the governor of Ararat Razmik Tevonyan, reports the governor of Ararat.
The leader of the "Republic" party Aram Sargsyan also took part in the event, as well as artists, students and teachers of different schools, community residents, lovers of Sevak poetry.
