Russia and Ukraine continue to exchange strikes

Russian forces have once again struck Kyiv’s Northern Bridge, which spans the Dnipro River. Traffic across the bridge has been suspended. Electricity, heating and water supply systems have been disrupted in the capital.

Five people, including one child, were injured in the overnight attack in Kyiv. Mayor Vitali Klitschko said that Russia had targeted infrastructure facilities with ballistic missiles. Klitschko described the situation with energy supplies in Kyiv as “extremely difficult.”

Russia’s Defence Ministry, in turn, reported that air defence forces had intercepted and destroyed 411 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles overnight. According to the ministry, the targets included the Rostov, Saratov, Samara and Tula regions, among others, as well as Crimea.

There are reports that the Proton-Electrotex plant in Oryol caught fire. Authorities in the Saratov region also reported that “civilian infrastructure” had been damaged in Ukrainian strikes. The facility is believed to be a Rosneft oil refinery.
