Russia and Ukraine genuinely want to resolve the conflict for the first time, US President Donald Trump said.
“We are holding meetings. I had a phone conversation today, and I will have another one tomorrow. There will be meetings on Monday and Tuesday. But I think they want to resolve the conflict. I think it will be a very big agreement that will affect all of Europe,” Trump said.
He once again stressed that Russia and Ukraine are suffering combined losses of 25,000 people a month, adding that he wants to put an end to the killings.
Earlier, on November 5, Trump met with an envoy of Russian President Vladimir Putin at the White House, following an event organised by US First Lady Melania Trump and attended by delegations from Russia and Ukraine. After the meeting, the US president expressed the view that an agreement could be reached in the near future.
