Arnak Avetisyan, Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia, received a delegation headed by Brian Breuhaus, Director of the newly established Bureau for Regional Disaster and Humanitarian Response at the U.S. Department of State’s Regional Office. The Ministry reported this.
The Deputy Minister welcomed the guests, highlighting opportunities to deepen cooperation within the framework of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Armenia and the United States.
During the meeting, Armenia’s strategy for disaster risk management and enhancing resilience was presented.
The role of local self-government bodies in organizing and coordinating emergency response efforts and providing direct assistance to the population was also emphasized.
The parties reached agreements on expanding opportunities to introduce international best practices in Armenia, as well as organizing training sessions and courses.
