The Prime Minister watched the excavation works in Aghdzk archaeological site

Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan visited the historical-cultural archaeological site in Aghdzk village. After a long break the excavations started again this year in February by the order of the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Abrahamyan was in Aghdzk on July 28, watched the work of archaeologists, the excavation process and promised financial help.

The Aghdzk archaeological site of 4th century which includes the tomb of Arshakuni kings, basilica church, monuments and cross-stones shards, is a rare symbol of independent statehood of old Armenia. And the inhabitants of Aghdzk hope that their village, like Garni, after the excavations will become a tourism center.
