46 cases of alcohol poisoning have been registered, 18 people died

The RA Ministry of Health informs that in the period from August 31 to September 9 of this year, 46 cases of alcohol poisoning (by methanol) were registered in the Republic of Armenia, 18 of which resulted in death. 29 cases were registered in Armavir region (with 10 deaths), 15 cases in Yerevan (with 7 deaths), 2 cases in Kotayk region (with 1 death).

During the mentioned period, 28 victims received treatment in different medical organizations, 22 of whom were discharged after receiving treatment (4 were blinded).

5 patients are still receiving treatment, 2 of whom are in Armenia RMC (1 patient is in extremely serious condition, 1-medium condition (blindness)), 1 in Erebuni MC (extremely severe condition, blindness), 1 in University Hospital No. 1 (in extremely serious condition), 1 in "St. Grigor Lusavoritch" Medical Center (in serious condition).

28 of the registered cases used vodka bought from Armavir resident Ashot Hovsepyan, who in turn bought it from a resident of Janfida village. 9 used medical alcohol bought from different pharmacies, 9 used different types of vodka (2 - homemade vodka in Armavir region).
