38 cases of alcohol poisoning were registered, 14 people died

The RA Ministry of Health informs that the victims of alcohol poisoning receive treatment in different medical organizations of the republic.

From August 31 to September 3, as of 12:00, 38 cases of alcohol poisoning have been registered in the republic. 25 of poisoned were from Armavir region, 12 from Yerevan, and 1 from Kotayk region. 14 deaths have been registered.

As a result of the epidemiological examination, it was found out that the use of non-factory-made vodka obtained from one place was a possible source of poisoning of the victims of Armavir region.

Most of the victims of the incidents in Yerevan used medical alcohol as a substitute for vodka. For the rest, as well as for the victim from Kotayk region, epidemiological studies are underway to find out the type of the used alcohol.
