According to the Statistical Committee of Armenia 12,894 children were born in January-May of this year, which is 3.2% less than in the same period of the previous year. In 2019 The number of births was 13,322.

The mortality rate also decreased -  by 2.1%. In 2019, 11,795 people died, this year - 11,547. The natural increase, according to the Statistical Committee, this year was 1,347.

The Statistical Committee also clarified that due to the coronavirus infection In January-May of 2020 some demographic indicators were summarized in an urgent manner and the preliminary data were presented.
