Germany will not send combat aircraft to Ukraine: Scholz

Providing Kyiv with combat aircraft does not relate to Berlin’s efforts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said on Wednesday, TASS reports.

According to him, Germany provides Ukraine with financial and humanitarian assistance, and supplied defensive weapons. "We have to think carefully about what we should do, and this definitely does not include combat aircraft," Scholz said responding to questions about whether the issue of the transportation of military aircraft to Kyiv by the Polish side (via the US) has been finally removed from the agenda.

On March 6, official spokesman of the Russian Defense Ministry Igor Konashenkov said that use of the airfield network of neighboring countries for stationing of Ukrainian combat aviation with further use against Russian Armed Forces can be viewed as engagement of these states in the armed conflict.
