Armenian Ambassador and Speaker of Spanish Congress of Deputies calls for immediate release of all Armenian captives

Armenia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Spain Sos Avetisyan met today with President of the Spanish Congress of Deputies Meritxell Batet.

The interlocutors touched upon the Armenian-Spanish bilateral relations, international-regional developments and parliamentary cooperation.

Ambassador Avetisyan presented to the President of the Spanish Congress the anti-Armenian policy pursued by Azerbaijan and stressed the need for a proper response from the international community in this regard.

The parties agreed that the immediate release of all Armenian prisoners of war and other detainees was a priority within the framework of long-term peace efforts in the region.

During the meeting with the President of the Spanish Congress, Ambassador Avetisyan also highlighted the implementation of high-level reciprocal visits within the framework of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Spain.
