From tomorrow on Tovmasyan is no longer the CC chairman, the NA Speaker published constitutional amendments

"I recently published the amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia in the official bulletin". The NA Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan stated this on his Facebook page.

On June 22 the parliament adopted by 89 votes in favor the draft Constitutional amendments submitted by a quarter of the NA deputies.

As a result of the adoption the term of office of three members of the Constitutional Court will be terminated, and four members of the Constitutional Court will continue to hold office. The powers of the chairman of the Constitutional Court will be terminated, but Hrayr Tovmasyan will continue to act as a member of the CC. 

On June 24 the RA President Armen Sargsyan signed the package of amendments to the Constitutional Law on the Constitutional Court. 

The changes will come into force on the day following the publication - on June 26 at 00:01.
