During the briefing with the journalists in the National Assembly the Speaker of the National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan touched upon the recent incident between the journalists and the police near the building of National Security Service.

"I have always been and will continue to be an advocate for the unhindered activities of journalists, the advocate for the rights of journalists, and I will condemn any attempt to obstruct the work of journalists. As you mentioned I did not see the footage, I watched the news about the complaints, at the same time I heard opinions that nothing special had happened", Mirzoyan said.

The NA President stressed that the details of the incident are essential, and if there is any violation an official investigation should be conducted. At the same time he said that in the case of journalists as in any other citizen it is necessary to follow the general rules.
