The United States will provide Armenia with an additional $ 1 million to fight the epidemic

US Ambassador to Armenia Lynne Tracy posted live information on the Facebook page of the US Embassy in Armenia about US assistance to Armenia.

Touching upon the Armenian-American cooperation on the global challenge caused by the new coronavirus, the Ambassador noted that they cooperate not only with the Red Cross, but also with the Government, other countries and other donor organizations, in particular, the EU and the Swiss Red Cross. 

She said that Red Cross distributes food and hygiene items to 8,000 needy families  and is carrying out work in all regions of Armenia in order to pay the necessary attention to the most needy people. 

The Ambassador noted that an additional $ 1 million is planned to support Armenia within the framework of the Global Health Fund. "These additional funds if add to the support already provided to Armenia against coronavirus, will make $ 5.4 million", said US Ambassador.
