“Europeans are clearly not a party of peace and are not seeking ways to achieve a peaceful settlement. Europeans are more of a party of war, which continues to do everything possible to prevent the war from ending,” Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
Asked by a journalist whether Moscow expected US President Donald Trump’s position on the need for a change in Ukraine’s leadership to lead to a split between the United States and Europe over the settlement in Ukraine, Peskov replied: “Russia is not seeking a split between the United States and the EU over the Ukrainian issue. We are looking for truly effective means and responsible decisions that will lead to a peaceful settlement.”
Earlier, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and the British side had reaffirmed their support for Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
