Anti-government protesters set barricades on fire in Tel Aviv

Demonstrators took to streets of Tel Aviv in protest against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government on Saturday (March 23), Reuters reports.

Multiple barricades were set on fire, and security officers scuffled with protesters while trying to put the fire out. Reuters video showed at least one protester being detained.

More than 32,000 Palestinians have been killed since the start of Israel's offensive in the Gaza Strip, according to health authorities in the Hamas-ruled enclave.

The war was triggered when Hamas fighters crossed into southern Israel on a rampage on Oct.7, killing 1,200 people and capturing 253 hostages, according to Israeli tallies.
