Holy Armenian Apostolic Church celebrates Christmas of Jesus Christ

The Armenian Apostolic Church celebrates the Birth and Baptism of Jesus Christ together on January 6 and under the general name "Epiphany."

According to tradition, Christmas was also signaled by a star, qahana.am informs. The star shining in the sky of Bethlehem led to the Baby Jesus.

On the morning of January 6, a Divine Liturgy is celebrated at the Armenian Apostolic churches worldwide, after which a Water Blessing is performed. According to tradition, lowering the cross into the water symbolizes Jesus entering the Jordan River.

The liturgist blesses the water with a cross, then with myrrh, and the faithful take this water home as a blessing, a healing medicine.
