Need for new parking spaces gathered cyclists in one place

One decade ago there were very few cyclists in Yerevan streets. Some drivers of cars even grinned seeing the vehicle that was not widespread in our city.

Today there are many cyclists: some of them have already refused to drive cars. It is hard to distinguish whether bicycle riding is a sport or a desirable means of transportation: every cyclist has his/her own motive of using it. Besides the choice of this transportation means, one more aspect unites them – the shortage of parking spaces.

Amateur Cycling and Bicycling Tourism Federation of Armenia gathered several dozens of cyclists in the Freedom Square on May 16. They had come to speak about the hardships of parking. They hope that unique flash mobs will help to make their voice heard for the relevant departments.
