The world began living anew after the World War II. People who were tired of the war showed interest in adventurous competitions. On May 12, 1950, the first race of Formula 1 was held in England. It lasted 113 days, 16 groups participated.
At first there were not the strict rules that work today. Formula 1 was making the first steps, and thousands of people were coming to watch. Beginning from 1997, according to the new law, cars must not be wider than 200 cm; they must have a high of 95 cm and weigh 600 kg together with the driver.
There has never been gender inequality in Formula 1. The most successful among the women participants was Lella Mombardi.
