Emergency medical vehicle targeted and broken down by Azerbaijani armed forces near Tchakaten was abandoned on the same spot: Armenia’s Ombudsman’s office

The Human Rights Defender’s Office is carrying out fact-finding activities on the targeting of civilian infrastructure during the September 13 aggression of the Azerbaijani armed forces in the Republic of Armenia.

The facts on the targeting of the emergency medical vehicles with relevant emblem and furnishments have also been obtained. This is a gross violation of IHL and of Geneva Conventions (Additional Protocol I).

According to the information of the Human Rights Defender’s Office, the emergency medical vehicle that was targeted and broken down by the Azerbaijani armed forces near Tchakaten was abandoned on the same spot, and the health care personnel was able to evacuate the vehicle on time. At this moment no single brigade of health care personnel is injured.

These facts will be presented to international organizations, and other international actors.
