Second Round of Group Stage of Champions League Kicks Off

In Moscow, local CSKA truly surprised ending the match with England’s champion “Manchester City” 2 – 2. “Roma” from the same group was beaten by “Bayren” for 7 – 1, as “Roma” hosted. 

FC Barcelona dominated the home side Amsterdam Ajax 3 : 1. Uruguayan Edinson Cavani saved Paris Saint-Germain  with a goal in a match with Apoel Nicosia in Cyprus.

London’s Chelsea crushed Slovenian “Maribor” 6-0 in a one-sided match. And in another Group G match “Schalke” withstood an enthralling 4-3 win over Lisbon’s  “Sporting”, it was a victory of will.

The Portuguese played ten-men starting from 33rd minute. In Group H match the Belorussian “BATE” was trounced 7-0  by Shakhtar Donetsk. Brazilian striker Luiz Adriano struck five times. Ukraine’s champion scored 6 goals in the opening half.

In another match of the group the Portuguese “Porto” beat Bilbao’s “Athletic” 2:1. In total, 40 goals were scored in 8 matches.
