US and UK imposed sanctions against Russian ships

In light of Iran's support for Russia's aggression against Ukraine, the US authorities announced on Tuesday, September 10, the imposition of sanctions against two Russian-headquartered shipping companies, Vafa Wholesale Ltd and Sea River Service Limited Liability Company.

As stated in the press release of the US State Department, these companies "operated or are operating in the maritime sector of the Russian economy". According to the US authorities, Vafa Wholesale Ltd owns the ships transporting the equipment related to Iranian UAVs from Iran through the Caspian Sea to Russia.

On the same day, September 10, UK announced sanctions against Russian ships Skif-V, Omsky-103, Musa Jalil, Baltiysky and Begey. As stated on the website of the United Kingdom government, these ships are engaged in the transportation of military cargo from Iran to Russia.

The TASS agency clarifies that these ships will now be banned from entering British ports. Great Britain also included ten oil tankers, the Russian military transport aviation command of the Russian Aerospace Forces and the 924th state center of unmanned aviation in the lists of sanctions against Russia.
