The European Commission has allocated €40 million for Ukraine to restore its energy infrastructure. This was announced by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, on X.

She noted that the European Commission is allocating this aid package against the backdrop of Russia's relentless attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure.

"Temperatures will soon go down, so we are stepping up our humanitarian aid to Ukrainians in need. With a new €40 million package for repair works, electricity, heating and shelter," the statement said.
