Aram Satyan to continue heading Composers Union
Aram Satyan will continue leading the Composers Union for another four years. The 15th congress of the 85-year-old institution took place on Sunday. 85 of 144 member composers and musicologists were present. The acting president has given a report on the implemented work and shortcomings. Presidential candidate Vardan Achemyan also spoke at the conference. After about eight hours of discussion, the artists voted for their preferred candidate. Aram Satyan won, gaining the majority of votes by a difference of 56 votes.
