There are indications that Azerbaijan is preparing another military provocation: Pashinyan

Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan warned at the Cabinet meeting that all early indications show that Azerbaijan is planning a new military provocation.

“We have all early indications to claim that Azerbaijan is preparing a new military provocation, including in Nagorno-Karabakh, and the development of the situation raise questions requiring urgent answers regarding the activities of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh,” Pashinyan said.

The Prime Minister noted that Armenia is a convinced supporter of the Russian peacekeeping contingent’s presence in Nagorno-Karabakh, and an advocate of its presence, however, the increasingly visible conduct of the Russian peacekeepers of becoming a silent witness to the forced “exodus of Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh” is unacceptable for Armenia.

“In any case we must work closely with Russia and other international partners over explanations to these issues to not allow a further escalation and reach a comprehensive resolution. I must also reiterate Armenia’s determination and readiness to sign a peace treaty with Azerbaijan, to complete the delimitation of borders and open regional connections,” Pashinyan said.
