Violence was aimed at causing pain and humiliation to our citizen: Artsakh’s Prosecutor General on incident related to resident of Machkalashen

In an interview with ‘Lurer’, Artsakh Prosecutor General Gurgen Nersisyan referred to the case of a resident of Machkalashen community.

A resident of Machkalashen, got lost while searching for the lost animals appeared in the territory under the control of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, and returned to the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) side hours later with the intervention of the peacekeeping forces. Body injuries were found on him, in connection with which a criminal case was initiated for torture motivated by ethnic hatred.

“Our citizen appeared in the territory under the control of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces by accident, as a result of getting lost. Just hours later, he returned to the Artsakh side through the mediation of peacekeeping forces. But during those few hours, the Azerbaijani side inflicted numerous body injuries on him. Their location and nature show that the violence was aimed at hurting and humiliating our citizens,” said the Prosecutor General of Artsakh.
