Salaries from state budget will increase by 20% in Artsakh in 2022

The Armenian Government will continue its financial assistance program for displaced citizens of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh). During the consultation with a group of members of the Government, President of Artsakh Arayik Harutyunyan noted that it would replace the program of AMD 68 thousand ($137). The amount is being clarified; it will be less than AMD 68 thousand.

“The goal is to gradually, by reducing it, urge them to contribute to raising their own income so that they can implement their own programs,” says Arayik Harutyunyan.

Citizens who have not lost their homes and are permanently living in Artsakh, but through the program of the Artsakh Government, will receive financial assistance to neutralize the effects of the 2020 war. Harutyunyan instructed the Artsakh Minister of Finance to envisage twice AMD 25,000 (over $50) per person by the end of the year, except for men who are able to work.

“In other words, we should provide AMD 50,000 (over $100) to people living in Artsakh by the end of the year,” says Harutyunyan.

In 2022, salaries and monthly social payments from the state budget will be increased by an average of 20% in Artsakh.

“My suggestion is to increase all payments within 20%. We are talking about salaries, pensions, benefits and other social payments. As for other social payments, I will ask the Ministries of Finance and Social Affairs to discuss those that are within the framework of financial support,” Harutyunyan says.

There will be a bigger increase in salaries in the organizations and companies where they are now incomparably lower, the Artsakh’s leader said.
