Marriage with a notary seal: In Armenia wealthy people sign a prenuptial agreement

Only 5 percent of couples signed a prenuptial agreement in former Soviet countries. In post-Soviet period marriages were usually recorded by Civil Acts Registration Agency or by church. What concerns the West, marriages were primarily confirmed by a notary seal. Prenuptial agreement in Armenia is mostly common among wealthy people. An agreement may be signed not only on property ownership, but also on not having a mistress or lover.
