The people who migrated from Moush and Kars settled down on the left bank of Akhuryan River, Shirak region. The village welcomes its guess with a tiny shrine and a signboard that reads “Marmashen”. One of the oldest and the healthiest residents of the village – grandma Araksya, meets the sunrise in Marmashen for 70 years already. Prior to moving to Marmashen she spent another 23 years in Julfa.
