Talks about ending war are meaningless unless there are guarantees not to attack Iran: Pezeshian
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said there was no point in talking about stopping attacks unless there were guarantees that Iran would not face further aggression.
In a post on platform X, Pezeshkian referred to a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron about what he described as US and Israeli aggression against Iran.
He said “I emphasized that Iran did not begin this atrocious war,” adding: “Defending against invasion is a natural right, in which we are good at.”
Pezeshkian also stressed the need to put an end to the use of US bases in the region against Iran, saying such actions were aimed at undermining Tehran’s relations with its neighbours.
He added that peace and stability in the region cannot be achieved by ignoring US and Israeli attacks on Iran, and said Iran will not surrender to aggressors.
He said: “Commencing a war in order to conquer, based on false information, is a medieval act in the 21st century.”
