Volodya Grigoryan was sworn in as Mayor of Parakar municipality on April 19.
He took the oath of office at an inauguration ceremony boycotted by city councillors representing the Civil Contract party.
Grigoryan ran for office on the ticket of Unity bloc, which received 12 seats in the city council. Civil Contract won 7 seats, while National Progress party won only 2 seats.
Grigoryan was named mayor-elect by virtue of law because his bloc garnered over 50% of votes in the city council election.
