Volodya Grigoryan named mayor-elect of Parakar

The newly elected city council of the town of Parakar held its inaugural session on April 16.

Volodya Grigoryan, the mayoral candidate of the Unity bloc, was named mayor-elect by virtue of law because the bloc garnered over 50% of votes in the election.

He will be inaugurated as mayor on April 19.

Civil Contract faction councillors did not participate in the session.

The Unity bloc received 12 mandates in the March 30 election, while Civil Contract took 7 seats. National Progress party got 2 mandates.
