Russia claims downing 78 Ukrainian drones, Ukraine reports repelling most Russian offensives

Russia on Thursday reported taking control of the settlement of Voznesenka in the Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine, while Ukraine reported 88 battles its forces engaged in against Russian forces over the past day, Reuters reports.

According to a daily report released by Russia's ministry of defense, in the past 24 hours, attacks from the Russian side caused deaths and injuries of Ukrainian troops with an array of Ukrainian equipment including tanks, howitzers, electronic reconnaissance stations and ammunition depots destroyed. The Russian air defense system also shot down 78 Ukrainian drones.

On the same day, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces claimed in its battle report that Ukrainian troops repelled eight of the 14 Russian attacks in the Pokrovsk direction in eastern Ukraine, with six battles still ongoing. Meanwhile in the Kurakhove direction in eastern Ukraine, Ukrainian forces repelled 18 of the 25 attacks launched by the Russian side, it said.
