In a briefing with journalists, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures, Gnel Sanosyan, addressed the issues of the resumption of the railway in the context of the lifting of the blockade.
"We are talking about the Meghri railway, the Yeraskh section, the Ijevan section railway. That is, those infrastructures that were and are not functioning now, we are talking about the possibilities of their reactivation," he said.
As for which railway is more realistic to agree on in the first phase, he said: "There is no difference, I think. Of course, the works are different, but the work in the Meghri section implies work in Yeraskh, and as a system implies a greater connection and opportunity on the part of Iran, and already on the part of Azerbaijan and Kars and Gyumri, also with Turkey."
