Armenian-French ties in sport
France was the strongest at the European Championship. The most memorable team of French football included Yuri Djorkaeff and Alain Boghossian. With the help of the players with Armenian origins, the French NT won the World Cup of 1998. Two years later, at the European Championship, France was again stronger. Boghossian was absent, but Djorkaeff became one of the attacking strength of the French midfield.
