Russian may become the official language in Artsakh, but Armenian will remain the only state language
Russian can become an official language in Artsakh. The draft amendments to the Law on Language are being circulated in the Artsakh Parliament. Aram Harutyunyan, a member of the "Azat Hayrenik" (Free Homeland) parliamentary faction and co-author of the bill, urges to distinguish between the words "official" and "state". The state language was and remains only Armenian.
