FAIT Minister on Armenia’s relations with the EU

CCarmen Ghukasyan

In 2027, as in 2026, we will continue our sectoral alignment with the European Union and our alignment with EU standards, aiming, first, to implement the law adopted by the National Assembly in the spring of 2025 and, second, to achieve the ultimate goal of ensuring Armenia’s sustainable development and resilience. Armenia’s FAIT Minister made this statement at a joint meeting of the National Assembly’s standing committees, discussing Armenia-EU relations.

According to the minister, it should be noted with satisfaction that our European partners share our understanding on this matter, and we will continue our active cooperation.

“When we talk about the EU, I want to note that cooperation is not limited, so to speak, to Brussels-Armenia relations; it also encompasses separate bilateral relations with the 27 member states. We have made significant progress in these bilateral relations. We have established strategic partnerships with a number of countries. For me, 2027 should be the year of putting these partnerships into practice through specific actions and programs,” Ararat Morziyan said, citing the example of the Netherlands.

The minister recalled that Armenia has strategic partnerships with countries ranging from the United States to China.
