Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan participated remotely in the regular session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council. The meeting took place first in a narrow format and subsequently in an expanded format.
During the expanded-format session, Prime Minister Pashinyan delivered a speech, in which he noted, in particular:
"Dear Olzhas Abayevich,
Dear Alexander Genrikhovich,
Dear Heads of Government,
Dear participants of the session,
I am pleased to welcome you at the regular session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.
I would also like to take this opportunity to welcome the esteemed heads of delegations from the EAEU observer states. I am confident that today’s meeting will provide another opportunity for an open and constructive exchange of views on topical issues.
We have repeatedly reaffirmed the commitment of the Republic of Armenia to continued mutually beneficial cooperation within the framework of the EAEU, aimed at strengthening economic stability and ensuring the sustainable development of the broader region.
Distinguished colleagues,
Armenia consistently advances the agenda of peace and trade-transport connectivity in the region. As has been noted repeatedly, the Armenian "Crossroads of Peace" initiative aims to create new opportunities through the development of transport, energy, and digital connectivity.
One of the key components of the "Crossroads of Peace" is TRIPP—"Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity."
The TRIPP project will establish direct railway connections between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
At the same time, the project will enable Armenia's integration into the international railway network and create an opportunity for establishing a railway link between the Persian Gulf and the Black Sea.
This will mark a significant milestone in the sphere of transport connections, bringing about changes for Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Iran.
During the narrow-format meeting, I briefed my colleagues on certain aspects regarding the unblocking of regional transport infrastructure—a process resulting from the establishment of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan. We anticipate specific solutions that will, in particular, lead to increased efficiency for the Republic of Armenia’s railway system.
Distinguished colleagues,
Undoubtedly, ensuring the free movement of goods, services, capital, and labor is the foundation for the full functioning of the EAEU single market.
At the same time, ensuring food security, the stability of domestic markets, and the predictability of mutual supplies of agricultural products and food is a crucial component of developing and deepening economic cooperation.
Joint forecasts for the development of the agro-food complex, along with supply and demand balances, enable us to more accurately assess our states' needs, plan production and supplies, and identify new opportunities for mutual trade and for realizing export potential within the EAEU market.
Distinguished colleagues,
Undoubtedly, ensuring the free movement of goods, services, capital, and labor is the foundation for the full functioning of the EAEU single market.
At the same time, the practical implementation of these principles continues to require our special attention. Unfortunately, since my previous participation in the meeting of the Inter-Governmental Council in Cholpon-Ata, it was not possible to make significant progress on a number of existing issues.
In particular, restrictions and administrative obstacles remain, which continue to make the full and effective functioning of the single market significantly more difficult.
In this regard, we consider it important to continue the constructive dialogue in the direction of eliminating the existing obstacles to the export and transit of Armenian products in accordance with EAEU law.
I am confident that consistent progress in this direction is in the interests of all EAEU member states, ensuring stability of trade flows, predictability of conditions for market participants, as well as further strengthening of integration cooperation.
Thank you for attention."
