The Office of the President of the Republic of Armenia issued a statement on Armen Sarkissian’s decision on the proposal to dismiss Onik Gasparyan, the Chief of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces.
The statement read: “The President of the Republic considers the urgent resolution of the political crisis over the issue of dismissal of Onik Gasparyan, the Chief of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces.
The President decided not to sign the draft decree.
The President, faithful to his commitment, will continue the steps aimed at further stabilizing the situation; calls on everyone, using the institution of the President as a platform, to negotiate in order to find a comprehensive solution to all existing problems.”
