The recent events on the Crimean peninsula have put Russian-Ukrainian relations at stake, threatening a new conflict in the region. Western allies of Kiev are concerned about the given issue. During a telephone conversation with Ukraninan Foreign Minister Pavel Klimenko, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy called for a peaceful settlement of the the issue.
