At a joint session of the National Assembly’s standing committees on Foreign Relations, Regional and Eurasian Integration, European Integration, and Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs, held as part of the preliminary discussion of the 2027 state budget, Armenian Foreign and International Trade Minister Ararat Mirzoyan also addressed Armenia’s relations with the United States, noting that 2026 was a very productive year for Armenia–United States relations.
“To the surprise of, and despite, all the detractors and gloomy predictions, the current US administration not only continued the strategic partnership but also deemed it necessary to conclude a new document with us, stipulating that this strategic partnership is being elevated one level higher-to a comprehensive strategic partnership.
You also remember the criticism that we sign documents with the United States, but then they remain on paper. Now, when speaking about the United States, we have a very good example to cite: very shortly after we concluded and signed our memoranda, in 2026, we saw the establishment of the Firebird artificial intelligence factory in Armenia, as well as other projects. And this is by no means our ultimate goal.
In our cooperation with the United States, we continually seek to discover new horizons and new areas, and I think 2027 will be very productive in this regard,” Mirzoyan said.
