US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have held a phone call to discuss the state of negotiations between Washington and Tehran, Axios reports, citing informed sources.
According to the sources, Netanyahu is insisting that Trump strike Iran immediately after Tuesday’s US midterm elections. The US President, however, wants to give negotiations a chance to reach a conclusion. The portal’s sources said this strategy is causing concern for Netanyahu.
The US President has also assured that the conflict with Iran will end soon: either Tehran will reach a deal or Washington will resolve the issue by force.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Trump prefers to resolve differences with Iran at the negotiating table rather than on the battlefield. Rubio also expressed the view that the US armed forces are strong enough to resolve the Iran issue by force if necessary.
