Today's session of the Albanian Parliament was marked by heated debates after opposition lawmakers called for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama's government.
Democratic Party MPs blocked the parliamentary podium and attempted to prevent their Socialist Party colleagues from voting on several draft laws introduced by Speaker Niko Peleshi.
At one point, Democratic Party MP Flamur Noka grabbed the microphone from Taulant Balla, head of the Socialist Party's parliamentary group, while Balla was speaking from his seat.
Meanwhile, protesters gathered outside the building where parliamentary sessions are normally held. No major acts of violence were reported.
