During a discussion of the draft law on ratifying the Framework Agreement on Strategic Partnership between Armenia and the United States concerning the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project at a meeting of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Foreign Relations, Natalia Sinoryan, a member of the Civil Contract parliamentary faction, said that residents of Syunik Province were asking about the timeline for launching the TRIPP project, specifically when the construction phase, or the actual construction of TRIPP, would begin.
Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said that there were currently certain forecasts and expectations.
“We have been at this for quite some time, and we are now also determined to work so quickly that we can begin some work by the end of 2026.”
“That is still a realistic possibility, but early 2027 is more realistic,” the Minister said, adding that clearing and technical assessment work was currently underway, along with preparatory activities. He also clarified that this did not refer to the laying of railway tracks.
