Despite Turkey's claims of neutrality regarding the Russia-Ukraine war, informed sources report on Ankara's military aid to Kyiv.
On Monday evening, the "Middle East Eye" website, citing informed sources, reported that the Turkish company Aselsan has sent several "Korkut" short-range air defense systems to Ukraine.
The Korkut system consists of three combat vehicles and a central command vehicle; the manufacturer claims the system is effective against suicide drones.
The Middle East Eye sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity, stated that Turkey delivered several of these systems to Ukraine this year but did not specify the exact number.
Ahmet Akyol, the head of Aselsan, stated this week that Korkut systems are currently in use in nine countries.
This comes as Russia has repeatedly warned that supplying weapons to Ukraine hinders the resolution of the crisis, directly involves NATO countries in the conflict, and amounts to "playing with fire."
