Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan attended the official dinner organized within the framework of the Republic of Armenia’s second Prayer Breakfast. The event was attended by high-ranking officials, statesmen, and representatives from diplomatic, business, and spiritual circles from Armenia and abroad.
Riley Barnes, Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor, Asif Mahmօօd, Chair of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom; and Stepan Sargsyan, President of the "Spiritual Club of Secular People" NGO. The dinner was opened by the prayer of Archbishop Kevork Noradounguian, Primate of the Ordinariate for Armenian Catholics in Armenia, Georgia, Russia, and Eastern Europe.
Prime Minister Pashinyan also delivered a speech and welcomed the attendees. Nikol Pashinyan emphasized that, in his view, this is a platform where people are free to speak and share stories about God, as well as their spiritual perceptions and personal experiences.
The Prime Minister reflected on his visit to the United States in February 2024, his participation in the National Prayer Breakfast, and an unscheduled meeting at the White House with U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance. According to the Prime Minister, during the meeting, his American counterparts inquired about the feasibility of establishing peace in the region; he replied that while he could not say exactly how realistic it was, he could affirm his belief in peace.
Nikol Pashinyan noted that this conversation subsequently had a significant impact on the course of events. The Prime Minister also emphasized the support of U.S. President Donald Trump on the path to achieving peace. "Without his personal involvement and personal contribution, we could not have traversed this path, and this is very important."
According to Nikol Pashinyan, no matter how difficult the trials and hardships may be, one must not despair; for to despair means failing to believe in God, whereas believing in God means not despairing. And, the Prime Minister added that he has overcome difficulties for one simple reason. he believes in God.
Nikol Pashinyan concluded his remarks with Psalm 29, known as a prayer of thanksgiving.
The Republic of Armenia Prayer Breakfast (RAPB) is an international, independent, two-day event organized by the civil society dedicated to prayer, faith, leadership, religious freedom, peace, and the future of Armenia. The event also serves as a platform for dialogue and cooperation among representatives from various political, national, denominational, and religious circles.
