Putin welcomed Washington-Beijing dialogue

Russian President Vladimir Putin said in response to questions from the media that Russia welcomes a meeting between the leaders of China and the United States.

Putin added that Russia welcomes dialogue between the United States and China, noting that they are the two largest economies in the world. How the two sides proceed—and what kinds of agreements they reach—will have an impact on the global economy, and also on Russia’s economy. Therefore, Russia welcomes any agreements between the United States and China that are of a positive nature.

Earlier, Donald Trump announced that he would attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in China. It is scheduled for November 18–19. It is possible that a meeting between Trump and Putin could be arranged on the sidelines of the event.
