Ambassador of Armenia to Belgium met with Mayor of Mechelen: revitalization of cooperation in economic sphere discussed

On September 23, Ambassador Tigran Balayan met with the Mayor of Mechelen, Bart Somers.

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for deepening cooperation between Armenia and Mechelen, as well as opportunities for establishing and developing bilateral trade and economic ties. In this context, the interlocutors addressed ways to enhance economic cooperation, emphasizing the importance of initiatives aimed at showcasing Armenian products and expanding their availability in the Mechelen market.

Mayor Somers expressed his support for Armenia’s initiatives and his readiness to contribute to their further promotion.

As a first practical step toward strengthening economic and cultural ties, an agreement was reached to organize an “Armenian Fair” in Mechelen in the near future, where Armenian products, along with locally produced goods, will be widely showcased.
