Message of Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan on the Independence Day of the Republic of Armenia

Dear Compatriots,

I warmly congratulate you on the Independence Day of the Republic of Armenia.

Independence is one of the fundamental values of our statehood. Its continued strengthening and development are possible only in a society where the protection and full enjoyment of human rights and freedoms, respect for human dignity, and the rule of law are firmly upheld.

In this regard, mutual respect, equality, tolerance, and the elimination of all forms of discrimination are of particular importance.

As the Human Rights Defender, I reaffirm my commitment to continuing our consistent efforts to protect and promote the rights and freedoms of every person, strengthen respect for human dignity, and contribute to the development of a rights-based society.

I am convinced that consistently fostering a culture of respect for and protection of human rights, as well as building an environment based on social solidarity and mutual respect, are essential to the sustainable development of our state and the further consolidation of democratic values.

Once again, I congratulate you on Independence Day and wish you peace and a society firmly rooted in human rights and rights-based values.

May our independent state continue to grow stronger on the solid foundations of the protection of human rights and freedoms, the rule of law, and respect for the dignity of every person.
