On July 14, the civilian merchant vessel Atlas Bey, owned by the Turkish company Ocean Maritime, was attacked by a drone off the coast of Odesa, Ukraine. This was reported by the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
"Eleven crew members on board are citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan. According to the available information, with the exception of the ship’s captain, who is an Azerbaijani citizen, the remaining crew members were brought ashore in Odesa. Their condition is assessed as satisfactory. Measures are being taken to search for the ship’s captain.
The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Ukraine is maintaining constant contact with the relevant authorities and is taking appropriate measures to provide the necessary consular support to Azerbaijani citizens," Baku noted.
