Reuters. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio met in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur on Thursday (July 10).
The meeting, on the sidelines of the 10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) foreign ministers' meeting, is the second in-person contact between Rubio and Lavrov.
Their meeting comes at a time when U.S. president Donald Trump has grown increasingly frustrated with Russian President Vladimir Putin as the war in Ukraine drags on.
Earlier, Rubio and Lavrov joined ASEAN foreign ministers at a meeting that included Australia, China, the European Union, Japan, South Korea, and others.
